What Are The Best Shower Heads And Faucets?

When you are remodeling your bathroom, I want you to make the best choice for your shower head and faucet so it will last and look good for years to come! In this post, I will show you the best shower heads and faucets!

What Are Shower Heads And Faucets?

Your shower head and faucet include parts you can’t see behind the wall. The walls’ details are called rough-in valves, which are specific to your faucet. This is the most crucial part of your shower head and faucet, so you want to get this right. The best advice I can give is for you to buy your shower head and faucet from a plumbing supply store before you remodel.

Why Are Shower Heads And Faucets Important?

The quality of your shower head and faucet is essential because it originates behind the wall and gets daily use. Therefore, you want facets that have brass parts instead of plastic.

Faucets and shower heads I’ve purchased from stores like Lowes and Home Depot have a lot of plastic parts (to keep the price down) and don’t hold up long-term in a shower that gets daily use. I have purchased plumbing parts from Amazon, Build.com, and Wayfair, which had all brass parts. Still, it was a frustrating experience because I didn’t have a person to talk to who could guide me to the correct rough-in valves and handles, so I ordered the wrong thing! By the time I sent them back and paid the plumber to come a second time, I did NOT save money! This is why I stress buying your shower head and faucet from a plumbing supply store before you begin remodeling.

Examples Of The Best Shower Heads And Faucets

I need to tell you upfront I’m a Delta Faucet fan! Delta Faucet does not sponsor me. I’ve been using Delta plumbing faucets for over 20 years, and I can count the times clients have called me with issues. Delta has some great-looking products, I like their finishes, and probably the most considerable benefit is that I’ve yet to meet a plumber who doesn’t like working with Delta products.

Separate Handheld Shower Faucets

Every shower needs a handheld device for rinsing down shower walls when cleaning, two people showering at once (hey, it happens!), washing a pet, or even a toddler. A handheld shower comes in two ways: a completely separate fixture in the shower or a combination with the main shower head.

A completely separate handheld shower looks like this:

It is installed either on a slide bar (so you can raise or lower the height of the head) or a hook. I consider these stand-alone handheld showers a luxury item because doing it this way defiantly costs more. The faucets cost you more, and the plumber’s materials and labor will also increase.

Combination Shower Faucets

A combo shower head like this:

Delta 5868-CZ-PR

In my house, I’ve gone the more expensive route in my primary bath, but in the guest/children’s baths, I’ve gone the second, less expensive route. This helped keep costs down, and everyone is happy!

As far as an actual shower head, the best is the Delta RP61273 shower arm with the Delta RP72568 shower head, installed at 7 feet off the floor. It gives you the feel of a rain can, but you can easily rinse the suds out of your hair with a bit more pressure.
